works.

A workflow modeled on what a senior customs analyst already does — only the time-bound, repetitive pieces are accelerated. Your judgment remains the final step.

Boys' trousers of cotton blue denim, not water resistant.
The cotton predominates by weight at 98%, so the chief-weight rule places this in heading 6203. Denim construction triggers the statistical suffix 16 for boys' blue denim trousers, not water-resistant. GRI 1 alone is sufficient — no recourse to the residual rules is required.

§ 04 — The instrument

Built for
the review.

Importers and brokers do not want a chatbot. They want a calibrated instrument that produces auditable output. Every feature is designed against that brief.

§ 05 — In plain language

What this is,
and what it isn't.

It is AI-assisted decision support, calibrated against U.S. HTS chapters 61 and 62, the WCO Explanatory Notes, and a corpus of CBP rulings. It is fast, cited, and auditable. It is the first draft your team or your customs broker would otherwise spend hours producing by hand.

It is not a binding ruling, legal advice, or a substitute for a licensed customs broker. The Importer of Record remains solely responsible for final tariff classification, duty payment, and CBP compliance. The output is your draft — you certify the file.

§ 06 — Questions

Frequent
questions.

If you've classified apparel before, you have these questions. We've written direct answers below — and our team is on email for the rest.

§ 01

How accurate are the classifications?

Our model is trained on chapters 61 and 62 of the U.S. HTS, the Explanatory Notes, and CBP rulings. Every output ships with a confidence score, the controlling rules, and the chief-weight reasoning. We recommend treating results as a high-quality first pass for a licensed customs broker to review.
§ 02

Is this a binding ruling?

No. Only U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can issue a binding ruling. ClassifyHTS is decision-support software designed to accelerate the brokerage workflow — it is not legal advice and does not replace your importer-of-record obligations.
+
§ 03

What categories are supported today?

Apparel — Chapters 61 (knitted) and 62 (woven). AI training has begun for footwear (Chapter 64); accessories (Chapter 65, 66) will follow. We add chapters once classification accuracy crosses our internal review threshold.
+
§ 04

How does batch processing work?

Submit up to 10 SKUs in a single job, either via spreadsheet paste or the batch form. One token is consumed per item. Results stream into your dashboard as they complete and arrive in your inbox as a formatted spreadsheet ready for your broker.
+
§ 05

Do tokens expire?

No. Purchased tokens never expire. The free signup token is yours to keep on the account.
+
§ 06

Can I integrate ClassifyHTS into my ERP / PLM?

Programmatic access is on the roadmap. If you have a defined integration need (Shopify, NetSuite, Centric, custom PIM), get in touch — we'll prioritize based on volume.
+
§ 07 — Tariff

Pay only for the
codes you receive.

No subscriptions. No expiry. Tokens convert one-to-one with classifications, and the per-item rate falls as your volume rises.
